About Our Childcare

Flexible Sessions
Flying Start Nursery offers flexible sessions to suit you and your child. We can provide full, part and term time only care for all age groups.

Please enquire about how we may be able to accommodate shift patterns.

Meals and Snacks
We provide a mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack. Milk and water are offered along with a choice of healthy snacks including a wide range of fresh and dried fruit.

To support the children’s understanding of the world we celebrate a number of festivals and provide opportunities to try food from different cultures.

Breakfast club: 8.00a.m. - 8.45a.m.
A sociable and fun club with a tasty and healthy breakfast of cereal, toast, fruit and milk are provided.

Packed lunch and tea
Children bring a packed lunch and/or tea to enjoy as part of a happy, sociable and calming end to a busy morning or afternoon of activities.

Please provide food in a container clearly marked with the child’s name. We are happy to heat meals in our microwave.

Parents will need to supply bottles of ready-made formula for babies. All other drinks – water and milk - are provided.

Please avoid foods which contain nuts to ensure that children are not put at risk. If your child has any allergies or religious dietary needs please let us know on the registration form.

We encourage a healthy and balanced approach to eating and would ask that parents support this ethos.

Parent Partnership
At Flying Start Nursery we believe that children benefit most from early years education and care when we work closely with parents and carers. To facilitate this relationship we allocate a key person to each child – a familiar face for both children and parents.

Settling in
We understand that leaving your child at nursery can be unsettling – often more for the parent than the child! Your child’s key person will support your child settling – we ask parents to provide as much information as possible about their child’s routine, likes and dislikes.

Before your child starts attending Flying Start Nursery we invite you to visit for short sessions with your child. You will be able to see the care we provide and also start to get to know the staff who will be looking after your child.
